Tampa Bay rookie offensive lineman Kenyatta Jones has been ruled out for Friday’s game against New Orleans and will be replaced in the lineup by Tom Kaleita, Coach Tim Marcum said following the team’s workout Thursday at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Jones suffered a right calf strain during the first half of Monday’s loss to Chicago, an injury that prevented him from practicing this week. Jones has started every game for Tampa Bay this season after earning the job with his performance in training camp.
Defensive back Daryon Brutley (concussion) also has been ruled out for Friday’s game, but Marcum isn’t quite sure who will replace him on the active roster. Marcum said he will either activate one of two players from injured reserve to fill the spot - defensive back Byron Jones or offensive/defensive lineman Ernest Certain. Marcum said the decision would be made later Thursday.
