During testing at Sebring International Raceway Monday, Jon Field of Dublin, OH, was transported to Highlands Regional Medical Center for observation following a violent accident.  Corner workers described the accident: “he was approaching Turn 9 and a gust of wind made the car bobble sideways.  The car got airborne and cart wheeled.”

His #37 Lola B06 10 prototype was heavily damaged and the Intersport Racing Team has not determined if it can be repaired in time for Saturday’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh From Florida.  Field had been quickest among all teams testing earlier in the day.

In a separate accident at almost the same time, Andrea Roberston of Ray, MI, heavily damaged her #40 Doran Design Ford GT in a single-car accident.  The car does not appear to be repairable in time for Saturday’s race.

The weather forecast called for clear skies with wind gusts up to 25 mph Monday.
