Plant offensive lineman Andre Mondor committed to Liberty on Tuesday.

Mondor, the recent recipient of the Jimbo Kynes Award given to the county’s top lineman, had offers from Albany and Stony Brook, but chose Liberty, a school that has been heavily recruiting him.
One of the anchors on Plant’s talented offensive line, Mondor helped the Panthers average 225 rushing yards per game last season. Mondor also started on both state championship teams the past two seasons.
“Liberty is getting one our most consistent performers,” Plant head coach Robert Weiner said. “He’s been an anchor for us. You have look at film on Saturday and you knew you were going to see a solid performance from him. I think Liberty’s a great fit for him.”
