Alonso isn’t the only school seeking a new head coach.
Jesuit’s Joe Ross announced his resignation today following five seasons as the Tigers head coach.
“It has been a privilege to guide these young men as Jesuit’s coach the past five years,” said Ross in a statement. “We’ve accomplished a great deal and had a good run, but it’s time to look for new challenges.”
In his final year at Jesuit, Ross led the Tigers back to the playoffs following a two-year absence and finished the season 9-2.
“We want to congratulate and thank Joe Ross, not only for his five years as head football coach , but also for his many years as an assistant coach,” Jesuit athletic director Terry Rupp said. “During his 20+ years of part-time and full-time service, Coach Ross has had a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of young men,” said Rupp. “Our task now is to find a coach who has the ability to build on the success of this storied program and at the same time serve the unique mission of Jesuit High School.”
Jesuit will immediately begin the process of hiring a new coach. Interested candidates should send their resumes to Paulette Mack, the school’s registrar, at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or by fax at 813-443-5445.
