This is a blog posted by Tampa Tribune reporter Adam Adkins earlier today on TBO.com in case you missed it—
Jesuit baseball player Vincent Leto has ended the recruiting process very early.
The Tigers sophomore outfielder has verbally committed to USF, Tigers coach Richie Warren said.
Warren said Leto, who was a junior-varsity player as a freshman, has attended several camps the Bulls have held and was impressive during that time. Warren added Leto liked the idea of being able to continue his playing career after high school close to home, leading him to give his committment.
While Leto hasn’t yet made his mark on the Tigers’ varsity squad, Warren said “he has a chance to be very good for our program.”
Jesuit has built somewhat of a pipeline to USF over the past few years. The Bulls have five Jesuit grads on the roster for this season.
