Jesuit tops rivals Tampa Catholic 13-5 in baseball

The nationally-ranked Jesuit High baseball team improved its record to 15-1 following Saturday’s 13-5 victory over host Tampa Catholic.
The Tigers, ranked No. 13 in the Xcellent 25 national poll by MaxPreps, got two homers from Adrian Chacon and another from Max Beerman en route to a 12-hit performance against their city rivals.
TC’s 9-hit effort was paced by shortstop Paulie Russo, who went 4-for-4, including a 3-RBI homer.
Spencer Trayner picked up the win on the mound for Jesuit. The Tigers’ next game is against Blake at home Tuesday. The Crusaders McDowell High of Erie, Pa., in games Tuesday at home and Wednesday at the Namoli Complex in St. Petersburg.
