Jesuit graduate Jordan Schilit, now a junior at Haverford College, was named the Centennial Conference’s men’s cross country runner of the week Tuesday.

Schilit led his squad to a 16th-place finish in Friday’s in the Gold division of the Brooks-Paul Short Invite. His 8-kilometer (five miles) time of 25 minutes, 4 seconds was 41st-fastest of more than 400 mostly Division I runners and tops among Haverford runners. The Division III Fords scored 489 points to a finish ahead of teams like Yale, St. Joseph’s, St. Lawrence, Shippensburg, Penn, Lock Haven and Temple.

Seven of the nation’s top-22 D-I programs were part of the 45 teams in the Gold race, which was won by fourth-ranked Oklahoma. Haverford and St. Lawrence were the only D-III squads competing.

Schilit and the Fords’ next meet is the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 15.
