They’re going fast.
Pasco coach and athletic director Tom McHugh says tickets to this Friday’s Class 5A-Region 2 final when the Pirates host Jesuit at W.F. Edwards stadium at 7:30 p.m. are selling like they are going out of style. Reserved seats have already been sold out, while McHugh and athletic administrators are recommending purchasing advance tickets at the school’s front office. McHugh adds that fans attending should plan accordingly to expect extra traffic and longer lines, while there will be limited seat availability come game time.
Ticket prices are $8 for FHSAA region tournament games.
Pasco (12-0) hosts the Tigers (11-1), as the two teams have deep postseason history. In 2002, the last time the two teams met, Jesuit downed Pasco 57-14, however, it’s 19 years ago that really makes this a short rivalry. The Pirates defeated the Tigers 28-16 for the 1992 3A state championship, the only one in the history of Pasco County.
