After Jefferson earned a big district win Friday night at Lakewood, Coach Mike Fenton said the Dragons will welcome a big addition back to their defense the next time they take the field.
Junior safety Rodney Mills will return for Jefferson’s Oct. 23 matchup against Spoto, a huge Class 3A-District 8 game that will have a big impact on the district titleJe race. Mills hasn’t played since dislocating his shoulder in the Week 2 game against Newsome. Jefferson (4-1) is on a bye next week.
Jefferson’s defense fared pretty well against Lakewood with Mills rooting on the sidelines. The Dragons forced five turnovers (four in the second half) and held the Spartans to less than 200 yards of total offense in a 27-6 road victory.
