Jefferson senior defensive end Tyriq McCord has decided to play in the U.S. Army All-American game, Jefferson coach Jeremy Earle said.
McCord (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) received an invitation earlier this summer. A four-star recruit by Scout.com., McCord recently announced his top six schools. In no particular order, they are are South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Southern California, TCU and Miami.
Last season, McCord led Hillsborough County with 18.5 sacks along with 60 tackles and three forced fumbles as he helped the Dragons take home the Class 3A state championship, the first in school history.
