Jefferson senior defensive end Tyriq McCord has always had a certain amount of style to him. So it’s no wonder the four-star recruit has decided to announce his college choice on national television.
The 6-foot-3, 222-pound McCord will tell the world during Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl game in San Antonio, Texas. McCord said he hasn’t worked out all the details but he has spoken to bowl organizers and hopes to put on a ball cap from the school of his choice sometime during the event, televised by NBC at 1 p.m.
McCord’s five finalists are Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Southern California and Miami. No matter who he picks, McCord says he still plans to take his official visit to Southern Cal after the bowl game.
McCord said he still didn’t know which school he would choose. In fact, he was planning to talk it over with players at the U.S. Army game who had already made their decisions. Among them is Jacksonville Bolles offensive lineman John Theus, who is committed to Georgia.
