Jefferson and Tampa Catholic ready to dance

A pair of Hillsborough County girls basketball teams will make the trek to Lakeland next week for the state Final Four.
Jefferson crushed Naples Barron Collier 66-41 in the 4A-Region 3 championship game, while Tampa Catholic easily handled Bradenton Southeast 62-48 in the 3A-Region 3 championship game.
The Crusaders will play Tallahassee Rickards in the 3A state semifinals on Wednesday, with hopes of advancing to Thursday’s state championship game. It’s Tampa Catholic’s second-consecutive trip to the Final Four.
The Dragons play Pensacola (similar matchup as the football semifinals) Friday in the 4A state semifinals. This is a first for Jefferson’s girls program.
