Armwood rising senior quarterback Mywan Jackson might have a front-runner in his recruitment after a weekend trip up North.

Jackson said Tuesday that he was very impressed with his unofficial visit to the University of Michigan, adding “there were a lot of things I liked, and there were not too many things I disliked.”

Jackson said he has not committed to Michigan but said the program “definitely is in the top three,” though he declined to say what other schools comprise that list.

On his visit Jackson saw, among other things, the hockey and football stadiums, the new outdoor football facility the football program is building and the academic center. He also had a chance to sit down with various members of the Michigan coaching staff.

“We talked to most of the coaches, except [head] coach [Rich] Rodriguez,” said Jackson, who was accompanied on the trip by Armwood assistant Evan Davis.

Jackson said Michigan is recruiting him as an athlete and that the coaching staff didn’t give him a strong indication on what position he might play if he chose to sign with the Wolverines. However, that didn’t seem to matter at this time for the Hawks standout, who is open to playing any position.

“Wherever they need me to play, I’d play,” Jackson said. “I just want to get on the field as fast as I can. If they need me to line up at running back or defensive back, I’d play it.”

Jackson has made unofficial visit to several programs this summer, including all of the major in-state programs as well as Louisville, Middle Tennessee State and North Carolina. Michigan, though, stood out above the rest.

“Oh, yes. Definitely,” Jackson said when asked if Michigan was the best he’s seen.
