FORT MYERS—Just got off the phone with Jason Isringhausen’s agent, Dan Horwits, who didn’t offer up much in the way of specifics but indicated everything should be settled one way or another by tomorrow.
“Andrew [Friedman] and I are working through it today and I believe we will have a resolution in the next 24 hours,” Horwits said.
He also reiterated that Isringhausen beginning the season in the minors is “not an option” under consideration.
However it works out, the veteran reliever’s preference is to remain with Tampa Bay.
“His goal is to work it out [with the Rays],” Horwits said. “We definitely feel there is potential interest elsewhere if he was to become a free agent, but we would like to work it out.”
