Former USF running back Mike Ford’s troubles continue.
Ford was arrested Tuesday afternoon in his hometown of Sarasota and charged with misdemeanor battery according to an arrest report obtained by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
According to the police report, Ford slapped his live-in girlfriend in the face as they argued inside their apartment.
Ford’s arrest continues his downward spiral since he rushed for a career-high 207 yards in USF’s 27-3 win over Northern Illinois in the International Bowl.
He was dismissed from USF’s team in March for violating university policy in place for student-athletes.
During his time at USF, Ford had multiple run-ins with the law, including an arrest last December just weeks before his International Bowl performance for driving a moped on campus without a license.
