Interesting interactive approach Lightning take to selling tickets

Sure, this is a sales pitch by the team, but it is a rather unique approach to getting fans to try to purchase a ticket plan, but I gave this a try and it is a interesting new marketing idea. While the acting skills probably need to be sharpened by Ryan Malone, Mike Smith and Rick Tocchet (it’s not their chosen profession, I know), overall it’s a pretty nifty program

You must have Flash plug-ins enabled on your browser and you must put in your actual phone number to get the full effect. Enjoy!

That has to be one of the best uses of online advertisement I’ve seen in a while.

Give me a break. First of all this bs cries out
“DESPERATION.”
Secondly, they traded Brad for having too big a salary and then trot out Malone!!! Can you find a more over paid stiff, boosters?

What BS are you talking about?  It’s a marketing technique used to create buzz around the lightning and hopefully drive up ticket sales.  It’s a great technique too because people are talking about it.  I’ve already read about the advertisement in four separate blogs, so obviously it’s doing something good.  Anything the Lightning can do to try to drive ticket sales and get more home fans in the building is fine with me, and should be with any other Lightning fan out there.  This is especially true when you consider the financial problems the Lightning have been having over the past few years.  Anything to bring in more revenue for the team is good in my book.

One more thing regarding the Richards trade. Isn’t it about time everybody moves on from the crappy trades?  Richards and Boyle aren’t coming back.  Probably never.  Every article that gets posted here winds up having somebody ##### and moan over losing Richards, or Boyle, or somebody else.  We traded Richards and got Smith and Halpern who are both showing extreme promise. Add onto the team a performing Stamkos and a promising Hedman, and you should have enough for fans to get excited about the upcoming season.  There have been a lot of bad decisions made for the club in the past, but it’s about time fans stopped focusing on the negative past and looked forward to the positive future.

Amen Koz! Any positive thing said about the Lightning is ridiculed by this guy. Judging by his whiney attitude, my guess is he’s a Flyers or Sabres fan. At the time Richards was the 2nd highest paid player in the NHL. The trade was inevitable and overdue. That was then and this is now. Go Lightning!!

Hi Erik,
This is off topic, but since it is still free agent season, what are your feelings about getting Darryl Sydor back (at a reduced price) as a mentor, or Dennis Seidenberg (seems like a steal at last years salary) or even Petr Sykora, (a steady 20 goal scorer) ??
Thanks for all your off season info.
