Injury updates and today’s games

PORT CHARLOTTE Let’s begin with the injuries.
Davis Price wore a wrap around his right palm and thumb and said he is fine after being struck there Wednesday by the barrel of Adrian Beltre’s bat while pitching against the Red Sox in Fort Myers.
The lefty is scheduled to pitch during a minor league game Monday since the Rays are off that day.
“I have not been told anything about him missing any time,” Rays manager Joe Maddon said.
Matt Joyce was scheduled to start in right field against the Blue Jays but has been scratched because of a sore right (throwing) elbow. J.J. Furmaniak gets the start, only in left. Gabe Kapler will move from left to right field.
Willy Aybar will play his first game this spring after suffering a sprained left wrist early in camp. He’ll play DH and get three at-bats. Maddon has Aybar back in the lineup Saturday at first base when the Marlins come to Charlotte Sports Park.
It’s split squad Thursday with half the team going to Bradenton to play the Pirates and the rest staying back to play the Blue Jays.
Two words: “weather permitting.”
It’s supposed to rain hard, with the storm moving south, so the folks in Bradenton will get wet before the folks in Port Charlotte.
