Jonathan Hurt hit a bases-clearing walk-off double as Progress Village Little League stayed alive in the District 13 Senior Baseball All-Star tournament on Saturday afternoon with an 11-10 win against Belmont Heights Little League.
Hurt, who had earlier hit his second home run of the tournament, grabbed victory for Progress Village after a back and forth game between the two sides. Jermaine Jennings hit two home runs for Belmont Heights, a 2-run shot in the fourth inning and another in the seventh that appeared to seal his team’s victory.
Progress Village also got home runs from Tyrone Miller and Rafael Caraballo, both 3-run shots. Progress Village will now face South Brandon Little League on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the right to play Bloomingdale in the championship game. Bloomingdale sent South Brandon to its first loss of the tournament on Thursday night with a 7-1 win.
