Hudson quarterback Will Fulmer is out 6-8 weeks with a severe ankle injury Cobras coach Justin Fenton said Wednesday evening.
“Will is a good kid,” Fenton said. “We knew going into this week he wasn’t going to play. It’s one of those things, we thought when he walked off the field last Friday it was nothing but then find out he’s out for the season.”
The injury is a huge blow to an already light Hudson roster, which has started off 0-2 and one that will send freshman quarterback Joey Caruso to the starting lineup this week against Ridgewood. The Cobras have yet to score a point offensively this season.
Fulmer sustained the injury in the second half of Hudson’s 42-0 loss to Clearwater Central Catholic, in which the junior tore two ligaments in his right ankle. It is unlikely Fulmer may return before season’s end.
