Hudson looking for new girls basketball coach

Hudson athletic director Keith Newton confirmed Friday afternoon that the Cobras are accepting applications for the girls basketball coaching position.
During the season, Laurie Tyszko stepped down as coach and Billy Nero took over on an interim basis. As per district rules, Hudson must open up the position before naming a permanent coach. Newton said he expects a hire within the next two weeks. The Cobras finished 2-22 this past season under Tyszko and Nero, respectively.
Tyszko previously coached at Land O’ Lakes in the 2010-11 season and led the Gators to a 24-3 record and a trip to the region finals. During the summer of 2011, Tyszko took the same position at Hudson and in her first season went 1-26.
