The USF men’s basketball team is off until it opens Big East play on Dec. 30 at Louisville.
However, at 10-2, the Bulls are off to an impressive start, already surpassing last season’s win (9-22) total.
I checked with STATS.com to see how many other Division I programs can say that this early in the season. Not many.
Here is what STATS.com researcher Allan Spear uncovered through Monday’s games:
1. Sacramento State: Wins last season (2); wins this season (6); increase (4)
2. Loyola Marymount: Wins last season (3); wins this season (6); increase (3)
3. N.J.I.T.: Wins last season (1); wins this season (3); increase (2)
4. SE Missouri State: Wins last season (3); wins this season (4); increase (1)
4. USF: Wins last season (9); wins this season (10); increase (1)
