TAMPA—As expected, the Lightning will stay with the hot hand and start Antero Niittymaki in goal tonight at home against the Kings, coach Rick Tocchet said this morning.
Niitymaki, the free agent acquisition from the Flyers, is 5-1-2 with a 2.05 goals-against average. He’s also 1-0 with a 1.83 GAA in two career starts against the Kings.
It looks like Tampa Bay will be without defenseman Matt Walker (body maintenance) tonight, and that Kurtis Foster will dress in his place.
