Some of the top teams from Hillsborough, Pinellas and Manatee County will compete in the Academy of the Holy Names Varsity Volleyball Invitational this weekend at Holy Names. The 8-team tournament includes host Holy Names, Tampa Catholic, Sickles, Robinson, Cambridge Christian, Northside Christian, Brooksville Central and Bradenton Manatee.
Brandon defeated Sickles in the tournament championship last year.
The top two seeds from each pool advance to the Gold Bracket while the bottom two will move on to the Silver Bracket.
Pool A: 1. Northside Christian, 2. Brooksville Central, 3. Tampa Catholic, 4. Robinson. Pool B: 1. Sickles, 2. AHN, 3. Cambridge, 4. Bradenton.
Friday’s Pool play (A & B): 1 vs. 3, 4 p.m; 2 vs. 4; 5:15 p.m.; 1 vs. 4, 6:30 p.m.; 2 vs. 3, 7:45 p.m.
Saturday Pool play (A & B): 3 vs. 4; 9 a.m.; 1 vs. 2, 10:45 a.m.
The bracket quarterfinals begin at 11:30 a.m Saturday. The bracket championships are scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
