USF football coach Skip Holtz dropped by the Lightning-Bruins game Thursday night to drop the puck prior to the game.

The Lightning had a jersey made for Holtz with his name on the back.

His appearance was brief as he yelled to the crowd “let’s play hockey.’‘

When he was introduced, Holtz got a nice round of applause from the crowd in his first appearance at a game of one of the three major professional sports teams his Bulls compete with for attention in the Tampa Bay sports market.

So far, Holtz’s appearance has not been a good-luck charm for the Bolts. They trail the Bruins 4-0 here in the first period. Yep, first period.
