USF coach Skip Holtz released his latest depth chart on Wednesday. Not much different than the one he released after the first scrimmage, but a few notable tweaks.
At first-team halfback, Mo Plancher shares the spot with Bradley Battles, who had an impressive scrimmage on Saturday. Plancher has been plagued by a shoulder injury.
At second-team flanker, Faron Hornes and Lindsey Lamar share the spot behind Evan Landi. Hornes has had a strong camp and is expected to challenge Lamar for playing time in three-receiver sets.
On defense, DeDe Lattimore has moved ahead of senior Sabbath Joseph at WILL linebacker. That’s primarily because Joseph had been out a few days due to a concussion, but he returned to practice Wednesday.

“That will hold pretty true,’’ Holtz said following Wednesday’s practice. “We’ll just have to see how it goes in practice. Every day we’re evaluating them out here. But pretty much the guys on that depth chart are the guys who are going to be playing.’‘
Other notes:
—The kickoff time for USF’s first three home games—Stony Brook on Sept. 4, Western Kentucky on Sept. 25 and Florida Atlantic on Oct. 2—is officially 7:05 p.m.
—USF baseball coach Lelo Prado is holding a Prospect Camp for high school players on Sept. 26. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for more information.

Still looks thin at QB. How big is the dropoff if Daniels goes down? Because history has shown us that USF quarterbacks have a habit of getting hurt…

I like the depth on defense. Secondary and DL look strong.
I’m a little nervous about WR and Landi as the flanker. We need Lamar to make plays to have a chance against UF. And TJ Knowles can flat out play! Very excited to see him

Looks like the defense is going to have its work cut out for them during the early season while the offense jells.
Suggest removalWith the expected Oct. return of Love/Griffin, this year has great promise.
Sure am glad we are catching the Gators early…just might, I said might, be a chance of a win at Flordia field (swamp).
