Well this is pretty impressive timing. I had forgotten that both Eric Hinske and Brad Lidge have teams in CBSSports.com’s fantasy football league for MLB players, but a helpful press release informs me that their teams are scheduled to go head-to-head this week. So Lidge may have struck out Hinske to end the World Series, but Hinske will have a chance to salvage some pride on the ol’ laptop.
Incidentally, from the standings CBS provided, it appears Hinske may be overextended. An admitted fantasy football addict who plays in multiple leagues every season, Hinske’s squad in that league is scuffling at 3-5, leaving him sixth in a seven-team division. Ouch. The full standings are below:
American Division
B.J. Ryan 8-0
Jarrod Washburn 6-2
CBSSports.com 5-3
Mark Buehrle 4-4
Michael Cuddyer 4-4
Eric Hinske 3-5
Travis Hafner 2-6
National Division
Matt Clement 5-3
David Wright 5-3
Greg Maddux 4-4
Brad Lidge 3-5
Aaron Rowand 3-5
Ben Sheets 2-6
Doug Mientkiewicz 2-6
