Hillsborough junior defensive end/tight end Jordan Sherit landed his third Division I scholarship offer when Duke University made him a pitch, Terriers head coach Earl Garcia said Saturday.
The Blue Devils follow the University of Miami and South Florida, who made Sherit an offer earlier this year. Considering Sherit is in Hillsborough’s International Baccalaureate program, Duke is arguably the most enticing offer for him academically.
“Duke would be a great fit for Jordan,” Garcia said. “He’s a great athlete and an outstanding student.”
Garcia calls the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Sherit “the complete package.” He has size, speed (a 40-yard dash time of 4.7 seconds) and one of the highest grade point averages on the team.
