Hillsborough junior Jordan Sherit picked up his eighth Division I scholarship offer this week when the University of Central Florida made an official pitch to the Terriers’ standout at defensive end, Hillsborough coach Earl Garcia announced Monday.
UCF follows South Carolina, Auburn, Purdue, Duke, Miami, Vanderbilt and the University of South Florida who have made the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Sherit offers.
Sherit, an honors student who is enrolled in Hillsborough’s International Baccalaureate program, turned in arguably the breakout performance of the year on defense for Hillsborough County, recording team-highs in tackles (110) and sacks (9), both of which were among the top numbers in the area.
