Hillsborough senior baseball player Jeff Mills has committed to Daytona State College.
“I was very happy when they called,” said Mills, who also received interest from Hillsborough Community College and Santa Fe Community College. “I like the program. It just seems like a good fit for me.”
Mills transferred to Hillsborough from Jefferson over the summer. He was one of the Dragons’ top offensive performers in 2009, hitting .333 with three doubles, three home runs and 22 RBIs.
Mills spent his past two varsity seasons playing outfield for Jefferson, but said it looks like he’ll play first base this season for the Terriers. He added he likely will play one of the corner infield positions in college and may get the opportunity to pitch a little as well.
