Hillsborough junior wide receiver Charles Lovett is enjoying another standout year for the Terriers and his success has not gone unnoticed.

This week, Lovett, the Terriers’ leader in catches the past two seasons, received his first college scholarship offers when the University of South Florida and Florida International made bids for the 5-foot-8, 168 pound receiver.
“He is without a doubt the best receiver I’ve ever had in all my years at Hillsborough,” said Terriers coach Earl Garcia, now in his 17th season at the school. “I keep telling anyone who will listen that he may not be very tall but their out of their minds if they don’t sign him. He’s the complete package—a quality receiver, student and human being.”
Lovett has hauled a team-best 17 receptions this fall for 411 yards and four touchdowns, including a 55-yard score against Alonso. Last year as a sophomore, Lovett led the squad with 34 catches for 703 yards and nine TDs. He even saw action as a freshman, making 14 receptions for 228 yards and two TDs.
