Hillsborough senior wide receiver/safety Evan Jennings, the Terriers’ leading receiver this season with 22 catches for 352 yards and six touchdowns, has made a verbal commitment to Western Michigan, coach Earl Garcia announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Jennings is one of Hillsborough’s most athletic players, playing not only on offense and defense (where he has one interception this season), but also special teams. In track, he was an all-county performer and state finals qualifier in the hurdles last spring.
Jennings also had offers from Ohio University, Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman University and Iowa State.
Also this week, Hillsborough junior defensive end/tight end Jordan Sherit landed his seventh Division I offer, this one from Indiana University.
