Hillsborough’s Austin will start for New Mexico

As a result of injuries to players ahead of him on the depth chart and a solid performance as a substitute, former Hillsborough High quarterback Tarean Austin will be the starter under center Saturday when his University of New Mexico team takes on the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Entering last week’s game against Utah, Lobos starting quarterback B.R. Holbrook was out with an injury. And just before halftime of that game against the No. 14 Utes, backup Brad Gruner left with an injury.
