Hillsborough star senior linebacker Rodney Williams suffered a strained ligament in his right foot and is questionable for Thursday’s game against Chamberlain.

According to Terriers coach Earl Garcia, Williams injured the foot on the second series of Friday’s showdown against Plant and did not return to action. The Panthers won that game 20-13 to put Hillsborough at 0-2 for the first time since 1997.
Garcia said he is hoping Williams can rest and recover in time for Hillsborough’s home opener against Chamberlain, which upset Wharton on Friday.
“The doctor and trainer believe that if he rehabs the heck out of it this week, he’s got a chance to play Thursday,” Garcia said. “The problem is it’s a short week. So for now, it’s day-to-day for Rodney.”
