The Hillsborough County girls and boys soccer coaches’ poll were released Tuesday with the Panthers remaining at the top of the girls poll for the fourth straight week. Plant travels to Bloomingdale tonight in a crucial match for seeding in Class 5A-District 7 tournament. If the Panthers defeat the Bulls they earn the top seed in the district tournament, if Plant loses then Newsome gets the top spot.
The boys poll again has Jesuit in the top spot as the Tigers have won eight straight with Wharton ranked second after avenging its only in-county loss and at the same time capturing the Wharton Invitational tournament title with a 2-1 win against Gaither.
The coaches poll, in its third season, is released weekly and a tabulated by Wharton soccer coaches Denis Vukorep (girls) and Scott Ware (boys) and accepts votes from any Hillsborough County soccer coach. Teams listed with records (according to poll) as of Monday and previous ranking in parenthesis.
