Rising junior and defensive end James Wilder Jr. has withdrawn from Chamberlain, Chamberlain athletic director Richard Scionti confirmed.
Scionti said Wilder withdrew on Monday.
Wilder, a 6-foot-2, 220 pound athlete and son of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back James Wilder, already has offers from Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, and South Carolina.
Wilder, who led the Chiefs in tackles (145) and sacks (15) this past season, was named to the Tribune’s All-Hillsborough County first-team and Class 5A All-State Defensive second-team.
He was also selected to the 2008 MaxPreps Sophomore All-American first-team.
Several sources say he plans to enroll at Plant.

steve and the truth, i dont know why you guys wont listen to me…
Suggest removalyou should really stop questioning Ec South. He is obviously correct and he is just making you both look like fools. When he refers to plant having “ENUFF SMART KIDS” he is obviously one of them. Can’t you tell from his impeccable logic and prententious, yet sly wit. You both are lucky that you can hide behind your computer screens.

On a serious note(kinda…)
Back to the topic at hand because everyone(yes, even ec south) seems to have strayed from the original topic.
I have to agree with Ec South. It is obvious that this kid is transfering to Plant for academic reasons. Football probably didnt even come to mind when he made his decision. And it is bogus that you would accuse weiner and his staff of recruiting. They havent had any prominent athletes leave schools far away(like riverview) to attend plant.
I will only say it one more time. Plant had to sacrifice its integrity for those championships so by golly let them revel in them.

oh, and i almost forgot. Aaron Murray left Jesuit to attend Plant for academic reasons too…

“Plant worked hard to get where they are at.” -Ec South
They worked hard at recruiting but thats about it…
you talk about all these “haters,” but why would anyone have any reason to hate plant if they are as righteous as you claim…

Plant has a good program..the word gets around. Players want to play at good programs where they can excell. im not a player so you would have to interview one of them as to why. most succesful teams get in the county get transfers. enough said.. my affiliation you ask.? class of 1985. Many Plant & Jesuit kids live in the same neighborhood. If a kid didnt pay to go to Jesuit, he would live in Plant district & attend there.

oh and speaking of Jesuit baseball… how many players go to Jesuit just to play baseball??
Suggest removalPor (The truth hurts plant fans) on April 22, 2009 (Suggest removal)
Fair enough. When your ranked number one in the nation and 23-0 it is kind of hard for people to not wanna go there.
Suggest removalPor (vaio) on April 22, 2009 (Suggest removal)
not a single player on jesuits baseball team has transfered in from another school…yes, thats means that 100% of the players on jesuit’s team have attended jesuit since day 1.
There are certainly players that want to attend jesuit but we do not recruit them. I believe that is the difference between plant and jesuit.

That’s a very good point there vaio, but I’m sure Ec South somehow won’t see it that way. You know, with the blinders he wears. I’m sure you won’t hear from him in a couple of days now that you’ve confronted him with some more facts.

Vaio.. what a minute..you said.. “Players want to play for Jesuit but, Jesuit doesnt recruit”?.. cant the same be said for Plant?? thats my arguement..Plant ended the season ranked #5 in the nation in football..but Plant recruits?? and players just dont want to play for them,?? ..you and Steve are just biased liberl idiot’s who only see what they want to see.
