Rising junior and defensive end James Wilder Jr. has withdrawn from Chamberlain, Chamberlain athletic director Richard Scionti confirmed.
Scionti said Wilder withdrew on Monday.
Wilder, a 6-foot-2, 220 pound athlete and son of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back James Wilder, already has offers from Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, and South Carolina.
Wilder, who led the Chiefs in tackles (145) and sacks (15) this past season, was named to the Tribune’s All-Hillsborough County first-team and Class 5A All-State Defensive second-team.
He was also selected to the 2008 MaxPreps Sophomore All-American first-team.
Several sources say he plans to enroll at Plant.

Rick:
No, I never said anything about Chamberlain getting beaten up, I was actually referring to the team that lost kids to Chamberlain, Plant, etc. and am well aware of the kids that transfer for sports.

I think Steven is absolutely correct. As a parent of a football player currently on the Chamberlain football team, I have sat and watched many practices. I’ve watched kids work there buts off and show up for practice everyday to only not get any play time at all, in the games.(no my child was not one of them, he is actually a starter!) so you can save your comments! Also, Wielder had many schools looking at him while he was at Chamberlain “already has offers from Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, and South Carolina”. taken from above, so we know that’s not why he left. I agree with the guy from Land O’ Lake to have the players sit out a year when they transfer like that. Or better yet start fining some of these programs that do recruit.

I for one am extremely glad that Brian did not get the job. He’s way too immature and has a lot of growing up to do. He was also a scared little punk, who ran from parents when confronted and left his dad to clean up all his **** up’s! I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up as a coach at Plant High. Whom ever gets him on there staff Good Luck!
Suggest removalAs for James, I wish you the best where ever you play!
Thanks
A Lady!
P.S.
I guess “WOW, CHAMBERLAIN” has never worked before. FYI you don’t get promoted just because your the retiring head coach son, you have to be qualified! DUH STUPID

who would want to attend a school ran by a bunch of heartless cowards good move jr. and uall are getting sensitive your talk about a lil words between billy and brian its a heated game that they both love they get over it and brian dont hold nothing back he says it how it is being real he wants to win.

It is comical how uninformed some of you are. Many are writing straight up lies. I graduated in 2006 and played four years for the Turners. They both would do anything for their players and spent alot of time doing things for them. You people just don’t know but can hide behind a computer and spit out your lies. The records speak for itself.Wilder is doing the right thing. Go Plant!!!

Coach Colbert is a good coach and will be successfull at Chamberlain. To answer another question. If you are a bonafide d1 recruit they will find you even if your at a school that doesnt throw or run or run a certain defense. Or is small
Suggest removalPor (Rick) on April 15, 2009 (Suggest removal)
Well said Lane, James was already being looked at. He doesn’t need to go to Plant to “get noticed”. He’s going to Plant to chase a championship, and that is the problem. An to mj, who is the heartless cowards? Nobody has yet to answer that. An I don’t take nobody’s comment seriously when they spell “ya’ll” like “uall”. An if Brain is such a good guy and a great coach, then give me your reasoning on why he didn’t get hired. I mean, he did have the upper hand amongst other applicants. I know why, cause he’s not well liked amongst his peers.

HA HA HA…wasn’t it about this time last year that Chamberlain had 7 or 8 transfers from Jefferson? Karma’s a ##### ain’t it??

It is the families business why they are moving their son. All on here are speculating and really don’t know what is going on. Current or former coaches don’t have anything to do with it according to the father(sp times)I guess people are jaded to the process. Lane, you were the biggest recruiter in the county at Jefferson so it is good to see now you think kids should stay at their school. Some of the hateful things said on here are outrageous and show how small people are.

Chamberlain People should be mad that Wilder left, he is an unbelieveable player! He didn’t leave for academic reasons-EVERYONE knows this…The ones who should be screaming bloody murder are the coaches that never had the chance to recruit him to their school. I guess our county lives by the rule: All is fair in love, war and recruiting..
Suggest removalPor (dbb) on April 15, 2009 (Suggest removal)
Just 1 question: where’s the proof that schools are recruiting? Haven’t seen a bit of evidence. Just alot of talk. Best way to recruit: become a magnet school so no one can say squat. I know some boys who left Alonso a few years ago to attend the IB program at HHS, and to play baseball. Isn’t that how Garcia went to JHS, to go thru their International studies course?

Ricky,
Suggest removalI have no problem with being small, I said it before and I’ll say it again, Brian is a dirty, greedy SOB who only cares about winning and will do anything to TRY to win. He recruited a lot of kids last year, and a lot of us parents were heated, and all that recruiting got him NOTHING! One person can’t win a game or a state title no matter how good you are. He has no respect at all so how your going to teach a bunch of teenage boys respect? The love for the game has nothing to with it. You’re telling me it’s ok to curse out your father in front of the players? So what is that teaching the players. Hell if you don’t respect the man that brought you into this world, then how do you expect anyone else to?

MJ, I’m just saying, you’ll seem more intelligent if you use proper english and grammer. We can only hope that the things Brain did doesn’t continue. Hey FYI, I agree with you 100%.

You guys are getting off the subject wilder is getting recruited by plant is you dont think this is true tell me how eric dungy can live in avila and go to planty which is on the oother side of the county that is recruiting your not just allowed to go whatever school you want to they recuit get over it. and all yall who are talking bad about the turneres brian has been there since day 1 and he built this entire program and while he was sick brian filled in for him sure they got in fights they both have a passion for the game i go to chamberlain and i talk to the adminisration i think i know a lil more than you assume you know you cant say you never get into a fight with your dad and regret it your telling a tall tale

Hey WOW, we know you don’t know jack if you think Brain built that program. I hate to tell you this, but the legendary BILLY Turner built that program. Unless you count all the recruits Brain brought in. An Brain has not been there since day 1. That’s a bold face lie, and I’m sure the administrators are letting you know whats going on huh. You sound like an idiot.

Plant baby, It is a shame that you have to recruit to get a good team. I would lay even money if you only were able to use the players that lived in your district, you would only be a 500 ball club each year. $$$ Talks BS walks. Plant is famous for this. You all should be ashamed!

Sorry Mitch. I’m not a Plant fan, but they did go 15-0 and win State in 2006 with a bunch of South Tampa kids (except for maybe that Kuzdale kid).
