The Miami Herald’s veteral prep sports writer, Larry Blustein, reported today that Orlando Olympia sophomore quarterback Colby Brown is transferring to Plant latr this month.
Apparently, Brown’s father had a job transfer that will land his son in Plant’s district. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Brown was the starter at Olympia, where last season he threw for nearly 1700 yards and 11 TDs as a sophomore. Olympia reached the Class 8A regional semifinals before losing to Timber Creek.
The top two returners at quarterback this spring for Plant should include Aaron Banks and Kyle Groh. All will be vying for the coveted starting job following the graduation of James Few, a first team all-county selection by The Tribune who threw for more than 2,500 yards en route to leading his team to the 8A state title.

Is there any chance that the media could please post the GPA’s of these STUDENT-athletes. There are many STUDENT-athletes who are quite adept in the classroom and should be held up as standards for the other STUDENT-athletes. Afterall the vast majority of STUDENT-athletes go “pro” in something OTHER than athletics.
