UPDATE: The United States goal of winning a gold medal at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games ended with a loss to Australia in the semifinals.
Sickles All-American Amber Henson four points, three rebounds and five blocks in the United States 25-23 overtime loss to Australia. Henson’s team will now play Canada for the bronze medal on Monday.

For the second time during the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, Sickles senior Amber Henson led her United States team to victory.
Henson’s game-high 18 points helped the U.S. defeat South Korea 34-10 in the quarterfinal round. Two wins away from a gold medal, Henson and the U.S. next play Australia in the semifinals on Sunday.
In the quarterfinal victory, Henson, a Duke commit, shot 7-of-11 from the field and also led her team with four rebounds.
