Headed To The Elite 11

First off, I want to apologize for not writing any entries recently. I’ve been very busy with football and everything else. We started our summer workouts on Mon., June 5. It was by far the best first day this Jefferson team has had in my previous years at the school. The tempo was set early by the coaches, and it caught on like wildfire throughout the team. It was great. Today was good too, but I think everyone was sore from yesterday’s workout.

We have a 7-on-7 game against Tampa Catholic tomorrow at 6 at TC. Unfortunately, I won’t be there, I leave for Boston. But one of my good friends Zach Grossi (whom just transfered from Sickles) will be there and I believe he will be allowed to play. I think they will do well. TC is a rising program again after those 4-5 years of being bad. Coach Henriquez is doing a good job over there.

I have some great news. I got a call today from Brian Stump. I met him up in Gainesville at the Nike Combine. He called me today with the best news I’ve heard this entire summer. I have just been the sixth quarterback selected to the EA Sports Elite 11 camp. I couldn’t stop smiling. I was talking to my mother before he called, then he called, he told me, my face lit up, and my mom knew. She knew as soon as I started smiling that I got invited. It was a great feeling. He told me that they (EA Sports) pay for everything, and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING! I’m flying over there with John Brantley. He called me today after hearing about it, and told me congratulations and that he will come down to Tampa to fly with me out to California on July 22. The camp is from July 24-27. I have to ball out and play like I usually do. I can’t wait. I then had to call my family and tell them the news, my family is very close and all very supportive. I then had to call coach David Reeves and tell him that me and my family won’t be able to go up the South Carolina because I will be in Cali during the time we set up for me to make an unofficial visit up there.

Anyway, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and apologize for not keeping up with this thing. I will try to write while I’m up in Boston, but if I can’t, I’ll be sure to do so when I get back.

Stephen, congratulations on being selected to the Elite 11.  I wish you the best of everything both on and off of the football field.

But, I can tell you, no fans will love you like the Gamecock fans.  Picking the Gamecocks is just the right thing for you to do.

Look forward to seeing you in Garnet and Black.

Congratulations on being selected for the Elite 11.  Wow, what an accomplishment!!!

I wish you a tremendous amount of success both on and off the football field.  I think you will be sucessful regardless of which school you choose to attend.  But, I can tell you no school’s fans will love you like the Gamecock fans.  If you were to choose a school like Bama or UF, you would be following in the footsteps of many great QBs that have already played at those schools.  If you play at South Carolina, after your playing days are finished there will be many future Gamecock QBs that will be saying, “I want to be the best QB that has played for USC since Stephen Garcia.

Man, picking the Gamecocks is just the RIGHT thing for you to do.

Follow your heart young man and I hope it leads you to The University of SC.

Hey I just came across your blog here and it is very intersting.  I am impressed with your numbers.  I saw that one of your college choices was Purdue, I am from Michigan, and I am an Ohio State fan, and a Fan of the BIG TEN.  If you really want to do something at the College level, and you like the BIG TEN, you should take a look at Ohio State.  They have a great coach in Jim Tressel, and he likes to air the ball out, especially with receivers like Teddy Ginn Jr, and other great ones to follow.

Congrats on the Elite 11 invite, there are very few honors bigger than this. Now take your talent out west and show them why there’s an “East Coast bias.”

S.G., I am a proud alumni of the University of South Carolina. Just wanted to say congrats on the EA camp and good luck. I wouldn’t listen to anyone, us included, about anything. Just listen to what your heart tells you. Hopefully your heart tells you Williams-Brice is home, but you have to listen to it first and foremost. Go kick some tail and we would love for you to be a Gamecock.

Garcia, all I have to say is Congratulations and you have a very bright future ahead of you, and about the 7on7 camp...why aren’t you all playing at the one at Chamberlain, your rival Plant is, and they are dominating in good fashion, they just scraped Chamberlain and Durant, and next Wednesday they are prepared to do more damage, but anyways good job, and good luck and remember
