TAMPA – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won’t waste any time trying to find out just how much Albert Haynesworth can help them. The defensive tackle claimed off waivers from the Patriots last Wednesday will start Sunday’s game against the Texans at Raymond James Stadium.
Haynesworth, 30, will replace the injured Gerald McCoy as the Bucs starting under tackle for a defense that is ranked 26th against the run and has allowed 372 rushing yards the last two weeks alone.
There were no other notable changes in the Bucs starting lineup, which will once again have Adam Hayward starting at strong-side linebacker while Quincy Black moves to weak-side backer as a replacement for Geno Hayes.
There was at least one notable change to the list of inactives this week as receiver Micheal Spurlock will sit out while receiver Sammie Stroughter returns to the lineup as a pass catcher and return man.
Other Bucs inactive for the Texans game are cornerback Anthony Gaitor, linebacker Dekoda Watson (groin), tackle Derek Hardman, tackle James Lee, defensive end Tim Crowder and defensive tackle Frank Okam (calf).
