USF just received its seventh letter-of-intent, officially signing RB Michael Hayes out of Blinn (Texas) College.
Hayes is listed at 5-foot-9, 195 pounds and runs a 4.35 40 according to Scout.com. If that’s the case, that makes him the fastest player in USF’s signing class.
“Speed, speed and more speed’’ is how USF assistant Kevin Patrick describes Hayes on his Twitter feed.
Still waiting on the big question of the day: Will Miami Northwestern defensive tackle Todd Chandler commit to the Bulls?
Chandler is expected to make his announcement early this afternoon.
If the Bulls can land Chandler and somehow turn Florida committ Michael Taylor, a linebacker out of Westlake High in Atlanta, that would give them a steal from the Big 3.
USF got a verbal commitment from Hillsborough High CB Terrence Mitchell on Friday. Mitchell initially committed to Florida State, but changed his mind after a home visit from Skip Holtz last Thursday night.
