Hawks’ Alexander signs with HCC

Armwood senior baseball player Tyler Alexander has signed with Hillsborough Community College.
Alexander, an outfielder/left-hander pitcher, was one of the top performers this season for the Class 5A state runner-up Hawks. He hit .392 with nine doubles, five home runs and 32 RBIs and also was solid on the mound, going 2-1 with four saves and a 1.63 ERA in 12 appearances, mostly in a relief role.
Alexander joins an HCC recruiting class that also features Leto’s Juan Fontela and Erick Gutierrez, Chamberlain’s Justin McCormick, Gaither’s Brady North and King’s Josciel Veras.

I was so glad to hear that Tyler Alexander got an offer from HCC. They are very lucky to have him on their team. He is not only a very conscientious young man but a great ball player. I have enjoyed watching him grow and mature since he was in little league. Kudos to Tyler and I’ll look forward to his season with HCC. Linda Carlile, Clearwater
