First-year Freedom football coach James Harrell will have plenty time to savor his team’s 23-0 win over Brandon on Friday night, which put the Patriots in the playoffs for the second time in school history, during his flight to South Bend later this morning.
Harrell’s son, Freedom junior linebacker Anthony Harrell, was offered an unofficial visit by Notre Dame to attend its home game against Navy later today. Harrell said Notre Dame wanted Anthony to attend the home game versus USC earlier this season, but they could not make the trip. Florida State, Miami and Georgia Tech have also shown interest in the 6-foot-2, 220 pound linebacker.
Freedom (6-2) closes out its season at Lennard next week.
