Hank Blalock update

The Rays are reportedly very close to signing former Ranger 3B/1B Hank Blalock to a minior league contract, and the deal could be done as soon as today.
“I anticipate it’s going to be done relatively soon,” Rays manager Joe Maddon this morning.
There is no spot on the major league roster for Blalock right now, but he won’t be a bad insurance policy to have at Triple A Durham.
The two-time All-Star has had some injury problems, but he managed to hit 25 home runs in 495 at-bats last season, his most homers and ABs since 2006.
