HALFTIME: USF 26, N.C. State 22

USF is 20 minutes away from advancing to the second round of the NIT.

The Bulls lead N.C. State by four at halftime here at the Sun Dome, led by Dominique Jones’ 14 points.

USF led by as many as seven but the Wolfpack also had a hot shooter in the first half in Dennis Horner, who matched Jones with 14 points.

USF shot 41.2 percent, which doesn’t sound that good until you notice that N.C. State shot 32.1 percent (9 of 28).

After making only 1 of 19 3-pointers in the Big East Tournament last week, the Bulls hit two of three in the first half, both coming from Jones.
