Despite Dominique Jones scoring only six points in the first half, USF is hanging with Seton Hall at halftime here at the Sun Dome.
The Bulls got six points each from Jones, Jarrid Famous and Chris Howard to offset Jeremy Hazell’s 11 points in the first 20 minutes.
Hazell is the Big East’s second-leading scorer, averaging 22.2 a game. Jones, coming off a 46-point game at Providence on Saturday, is third at 21 points a game.
The big difference in the first was a 24-15 rebound edge for the Pirates.
Pirates forward Herb Pope, who leads the conference in rebounding with 11.1 a game, missed all five of his shots in the first half but grabbed nine rebounds.
