USF has done a 27-point turnaround at halftime from yesterday to today.
The Bulls trail Georgetown 31-19 at halftime here at Madison Square Garden in the second round of the Big East Tournament. The led DePaul by 15 points at the break in Tuesday’s first-round victory.
USF G Dominique Jones warmed up near the end of the first half, finishing the half with a game-high 12 points.
However, no other player for the Bulls has more than two points.
Georgetown’s Chris Wright (10 points) and Jason Clark (9) have really hurt the Bulls with their inside-out game. Wright has been a force driving to the basket and Clark has hit three 3-pointers.
Once again, the majority of USF’s points are coming from the paint. USF scored 14 of its 19 first-half points in the paint as its ability to hit outside shots has been nonexistent.
USF is winning the rebounding edge 22-17, but that’s mostly because of 10 offensive rebounds from missed shots.
The Bulls shot just 26.7 percent (8 of 30) in the opening 20 minutes.
Check back shortly for second-half updates.
