It did not take long for Bucs Coach Jon Gruden to say QB Jeff Garcia would start next week.
During Gruden’s press conference after Tampa Bay’s 27-3 victory against Carolina, he was asked what would go into his decision about deciding if he should start Garcia. Gruden responded by saying Garcia would be his starter in Sunday’s game against Seattle.
“We’re going to start Jeff,” Gruden said. “Brian was still unable to be active today. We have a lot of respect for our quarterbacks. We realize it’s a hard game to play when you’re not healthy. We’ll try to get Brian back as soon as we can. In the meantime, Josh and Luke and Jeff have to pick up the slack.”
What do you think of that decision?

Gruden needs to stop talking like Griese is the man and Garcia is just filling in till he is healthy. I don’t care what personal issues Gruden has with Garcia, squash that ##### and do what is right for the team. Garcia gives us the better chance to win period.

yeah, gruden is just lucky we managed to pull out a couple wins with the greaser playing, while he acted out by benching jeff (we should have won that game). I think he needs to man up and show some respect and quit the back and forth bs, JEFF was on target today and the rest of the team was right there behind him!! (Chucky did call a good game, defense needs to snag a few more of them freebees and we’d be posting some big time stats. For now, we wait, under the radar, ready to take another lil’ piece next week… GO BUCS!!!

I agree - Gruden is talking out of his #####. Griese would’ve had his ##### handed to him by Carolina and Gruden knows it. He’s trying to save face after being so petty over the issues he has with Garcia. Jeff is Tampa’s best chance to win games and he should’ve been the starter all along.
