Former Wesley Chapel High quarterback Greg Jenkins, now a sophomore at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, led the Bulldogs to a 63-9 victory against Itawamba Community College Thursday night.
In three quarters of work, Jenkins ran for 155 yards, scoring three times on the ground and tossing a 59-yard score. He also added 212 passing yards.
“The line blocked great, I can’t lie,” Jenkins wrote in a text message.
Earlier this summer Jenkins verbally committed to Troy University, where he will get a shot to compete at quarterback.
MGCCC (1-1) lost its season opener last week to Northwest Mississippi Community College, 30-25. Prior to that, MGCCC was ranked No. 2 in the nation according to the National Junior College Athletic Association.
