King quarterback Greg Windham and his receiver Chris Murray took a trip to Athens, Ohio for an official visit to Ohio University this past Saturday.
The pair took a tour of the school and watched the Bobcats (3-0) beat Marshall, 44-7, in the 55th addition of the Battle for the Bell inside Peden Stadium.
Word is, both enjoyed the trip and the things Ohio had to offer, but neither gave a commitment while on the campus.
“They said the school was nice, the football program was nice and the coaching staff was very professional and they liked it,” King coach Alvin Davis said. “Right now, Ohio is very high on their list.”
Thus far, Windham has connected on 53-of-94 passes for 793 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also leading the Lions in rushing with 236 yards and four TDs. Murray has caught 18 passes for 433 yards and four touchdowns.
“Oh yes, I love it up there,” Windham said of the trip.
When asked if that was a place he could commit to, Windham admitted: “It could happen, but I’m going to wait for a little minute.”
Ohio may prove very alluring for the duo after the program’s 2008 season. That year, the Bobcats offense set single-season program records for passing yards, passing yards per game and touchdown passes. The offense amassed 4,337 yards of total offense, which was the third-highest in school history. Quarterback Boo Jackson set the single-season school record for touchdown passes (19) leading that offense.
